iTELL Training

CTAP 6 is pleased to announce the iTELL training August 4 – 6, 2009 8:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. at the Stanislaus County Office of Education. Integrating Technology for English Language Learners (iTELL) is a three-day program designed to prepare teachers to implement research-based strategies that integrate technology in their classrooms. These strategies have been shown to improve teaching and enhance learning for EL students.
During this three-day training, participants will create technology-enhanced products that can immediately be used in the classroom. The products will include: a collection of images and online resources to support a unit or lesson; a graphic content dictionary to academic vocabulary acquisition; and a PhotoStory™ slideshow narrative.

In order to make the best use of the time, participants should bring their Teacher’s Edition and/or other curriculum materials, including interactive input devices such as the Interwrite™ pad, if available. Participants should plan to implement at least one strategy or product created during the first two days; a portion of the agenda on Day 3 will be dedicated to sharing implementation experiences. Please contact Burt Lo (209) 238-1454 or email blo@ctap6.k12.ca.us for more information.

The fee for this 3 day workshop is only $75 for CTAP Region 6 participants (includes access to California Streaming and lunch). CTAP 6 includes the counties of Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne. Participants from other regions are welcome to attend, please call for pricing.
